NX Nastran

NX Nastran ia a high-value computer aided engineering (CAE) tool. It is used by leading manufacturers worldwide to realise safe, reliable and optimized designs in significantly reduced lead times. For more than 30 years Nastran has been the analysis tool of choice in almost every sector of industry (aerospace, defence, car manufacturing, shipbuilding, construction of heavy machinery and medical industry). It also is the default tool for computer aided analysis of loads, vibrations, structural integrity/failure, heat transfer, noise/acoustic and aeroelasticity/flutter.

 

NX Nastran – Basic

NX Nastran – Basic is the core subset of NX Nastran software and includes

a robust suite of linear statics, normal modes, buckling analyses, heat

transfer and basic nonlinear capabilities. NX Nastran – Basic can play a key

role in your virtual product development process by providing the most

widely used CAE solutions for digital prototyping and simulation of product

functional performance.

 

NX Nastran for FEMAP

Nastran for FEMAP is a highly cost-effective Windows native CAE solution that combines the commonly used pre / post processors of FEMAP and analysis capabilities of Nastran. Thanks to the collaboration with the MSC.Nastran-Solver over 15 years NX Nastran for FEMAP is seamlessly integrated into the FEMAP environmet. NX Nastran for FEMAP offers a highly cost-effective solution for a variety of large and small companies. Theirs design teams benefit from the robust CAE tools that they need for improved product performance and improve reliability and repeatability of its construciton operations at the same time.

 

Aeroelasticity

Aeroelastic analysis is a capability that enables the analysis of structural

models in the presence of an airstream. With the Aeroelasticity Modul, an optional add-on module to NX Nastran - Basic software, you have access to static aeroelastic capabilities for stress, load, aerodynamic and control system analysis and design using a common finite element representation. NX Nastran - the aeroelasticity, is applicable to the design of airplanes, helicopters, missiles, suspension bridges and even tall chimneys and power lines.

 

Direct matrix abstraction program (DMAP) 

NX Nastran – Direct Matrix Abstraction Program (DMAP) software is aunique Nastran programming capability available as an add-on toNX Nastran – Basic that allows users to expand NX Nastran capabilities bywriting their own applications and installing their own custom modules. DMAP can be used to compute additional measures of structural response,to transfer intermediate data to and from NX Nastran (e.g., externallygenerated system matrices), to incorporate the latest software enhancementswithout waiting for a major software release or to access more than justthe standard results output sets.

 

Dynamic Response

NX Nastran – Dynamic Response software enables you to calculate your

product’s forced dynamic response to inputs (loads or motions) that vary with

time or frequency. An add-on option to NX Nastran – Basic, it complements

the linear static and mode solution capabilities found in the Basic solution.

Dynamic response capabilities play a key role in various industries such as

assessing passenger comfort in aircraft and automobiles under different

operating conditions, determining whether engine frequencies or tire excitations

from the road suface will adversely affect responses at other areas of a

vehicle, such as at the steering column or in the seats or evaluating the

effect of vibrations on the performance of consumer products and other

high-tech electronic devices

 

 

Optimization

Using optimization techniques, an engineer can improve a proposed design, resulting in the best possible product for minimum cost. Because your designs may have hundreds of variable parameters, with complex inter-relationships, finding an optimal design through manual iterations is hit-or-miss at best. NX™ Nastran® – Optimization software relieves the burden involved in improving product designs by automating the iterative process of comparing your design’s performance against its performance specifications.

 

Superelement

NX Nastran software solves large systems of equations efficiently using sparse matrix algorithms. However, NX Nastran – Superelements offers still greater efficiency. Superelements, an add-on to NX Nastran – Basic, plays a key role when

solving very large and complex finite element models by decomposing larger

structures into equivalent sets of smaller substructures called superelements.

NX Nastran – Superelements can be used with all NX Nastran analysis

capabilities; is particularly efficient in large, full-system analysis such as an

entire aircraft, vehicle or ship and performs incremental and partial assembly

solutions.
