Predicting the real-world performance of a product requires simulation tools that span a variety of engineering disciplines. Simcenter STAR-CCM+ is a CFD-focused multi-physics code that delivers accurate and efficient multidisciplinary technologies in a single integrated user interface.

Constant design changes are the norm in product development. Adjustments are often prepared and calculated manually or simulated in complex experiments with a large number of prototypes. Simcenter STAR-CCM+ is a stand-alone simulation solution that simplifies and automates these processes. It provides solutions for computational fluid dynamics (CFD), heat transfer, particle dynamics, reactive flow, electrochemistry, electromagnetics, acoustics and rheology. The simulation environment provides efficient technologies that can be managed through a single, integrated user interface. Workflows are highly automated, simplifying the calculation and evaluation of complex problems.

A design can be adjusted interactively until the desired improvements are achieved, leading to high quality results. In contrast to other methods, virtual product development has the advantage that design parameters can be adjusted over the entire operating range. Product characteristics can be determined at a fraction of the cost of experimental testing.
